KTRA has organised the Festive Lights in Kentish Town Road since 2019. We arrange a Lighting Up Event at the end of November when the lights are switched on, to the accompaniment of bands, choirs and other performers. London Borough of Camden (LBC) pays for the lights from Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funds. In July 2022 LBC released additional CIL funds to pay for another three years. More lights than before were installed, on 44 lampposts all the way down Kentish Town Road from the Assembly House to Hawley Road. Later London Borough of Camden agreed to release more funds for another three years from November 2025 – February 2028, to ensure lights continue to sparkle on Kentish Town Road during the winter months.
